Have you ever had an incredibly embarrassing song stuck in your head that you happen to sing just a little bit of to your daughter while your buckling her into her carseat? And then when you're at Target she belts it out as loud as she possibly can?

Yeah...me neither.

You absolutely must tell us the words of that song! I'm left hanging....

I heard the words and I still don't get why it was embarrassing. But I am waaaaay out of the "cool" loop, so I don't mind.

Next time just tell her to "Sing it Sista!"

Was it "All the SIngle Ladies?" I had that stuck in my head as I was trying to sleep the other night, and I actually was thinking how embarrassed at myself I was. Or more importantly how embarrassed I would be if my young one would ever repeat any of that song... or the dance moves... yeesh!

haha

yeah, i didn't think my children were listening while i had all-american rejects on a few days ago. ...til 10 minutes later my 3yr old started singing "give you hehww." OOPS! :O hahaha

on the other hand, one summer weekday i was dragging around fry's with three small children in tow (i'm sure it involved some gigantic form of shopping cart) on the outside, and one very large (for a fetus) child on the inside, and i had totally had it. i was about to cry at all the fuss they were making, how tired and uncomfortable i was, the ugly looks i was getting, and how slowly i was finding what i needed. then my four-yr old daughter started singing: "i love mommy, she loves me! [the critical glances became smiles] we love daddy, yessiree! [people were stopping to listen] they love us and so you see, we are a happy family! [adoring chuckles and "aw"'s all around]" that is one of my all-time favorite mommy moments. some things are worth all the trouble. <3
