The stars are all aligning and I think that Joel and I will be able to start having date nights! We've been able to go on sporadic dates every other month or so, but I really want to try and go at least twice a month.
Something that Joel and I really like to do together is travel. When we reach our destination, one of the things we love to do is try out fun places to eat (sometimes we look up places that have been featured on the Food or Travel channel). We think it would be silly to go to Taco Bell when there's (clean!! That's my requirement) local Mexican food around the corner- some place we don't have here in AZ. However, with the kids, traveling turns out to be more of a headache than it used to be and sucks all of the energy (and fun) out of me. Well, I was watching a morning show and they were featuring local restaurants, and it clicked:
I think it would be fun to try our own unique and yummy places to eat for date nights!
So, here's my list so far:
Fibber Magees
The Cornish Pasty Co.
Liberty Market
Does anyone else have any good places to eat?

Okay Josh and I heard about the LIBERTY MARKET and tried it out.....ITS AWFUL!!!! Not only is the food awful!....but the atmosphere is as well.
I love this idea. My husband doesn't like chain restaurants in general, so we always try out new places. It's a risk I guess, because some are really bad, but it's still fun!
You have to go to scottsdale mall to eat at my favorite new place... The Yard house. It is known for its own brewed beer, But since we dont drink i think the food is the best. the chicken tortilla stack and mac and cheese (which it has a better name then that) but that is what i have tried so far and I am going there again on friday for our date night. LOL. Also I did meet your mother-in-law. She is my mother's visiting teacher and i was over there when they were there to visit. she seems like a really nice lady!
Ted's Hotdogs on mcklintock and broadway.. if you like hotdogs or brats, this is your place to go! mmmmm.... they only take cash though. heads up.
I second Ted's Hotdogs. Also there is a pizza place in Phoenix called Pizzera Bianco that I've always wanted to try. It was on Oprah as a top pizza place. Also Nello's in Mesa is good. Plus you can take your kids to Nellos. Joe's Farm Grill has good food and a great breakfast. The Coffee shop that is located next to Farm grill also has good food, cupcakes and lemonade. The Farm Grill is located at Higley and Ray.
P.S. The farm grill, Joe BBQ and Liberty Market are all owned by the same person. Happy Eating!
